About the Workshop

Learn how to paint a bird in an interactive online workshop. I will be covering basics of how to paint a Hummingbird from scratch. How to create feather texture, realistic wings and sharp eyes, being some of the key takeaways. No prior knowledge in pencil colours is a prerequisite for this course. It is designed for students wanting to make wildlife art, age 15 and above. Age Group: 15 Yrs + Materials Required: - Polychromos Pencil Colours - White Smooth Paper (250 gsm+) - Size A5 - Eraser - Sharpener - Indenting Tool - Tracing Paper - 1 A4 Sheet - Butter Paper - 1 A4 Sheet - 2B Lead Pencil - Watercolor Soft Bristle Round Brush (Size 10+) - Optional Day1: Workshop will begin with a brief introduction to pencil colours. Followed by transferring artwork onto the worksheet. Initial layering of base colours with focus on the head area. Day 2: Will have a quick wrap up of previous day's session. This will be followed by further layering and completion of the body. Focus on adding highlights and shadows, to add final touches and completing the painting. Finally, a discussion on what we have learnt in 2 days followed by a Q&A session will conclude the workshop. Mode of Workshop: Interactive It will be an interactive workshop. Students are encouraged to ask queries during the session. A professionally edited real time video of the painting session will be played out, with live instructions from the artist. This will ensure timely completion of the artwork and clear explanation of techniques to the students. Students will be expected to share their work as and when they complete it.
